Edit galleryimagelist?

I am using the Gallery extension and would like to have some possibilities of editing the galleryimagelist after I created the Edit Gallery content.
Things like changing the title, the alternative text and the order of the images would make this Gallery feature so much more powerful! Even adding several images in one go would be good to have!
Is this possible and are more users interested in getting these features?
If it becomes an offline tool then that would also help.

You can change the order of the images by just dragging an image to the position you want it. It has also been mentioned that editing title/description wasn't really do able with the current setup. However, anyone is free to rewrite the code - it would be great to be able to edit the title/description after adding the images. I just don't have time.

I can imagine that you are very busy. I am willing to try but don't know where to start. I can read php but building something from scratch is still to complicated for me.
Could you point me to the part where galleryimagelist is constructed? I guess that's a good starting point or not?

I mean where do I start looking for the connection between the edit page and the galleryimagelist? I am not familiar with the integration of tpl files and js files into a php structure.....

The connection happens automatically. The layout of the gallery editing "widget" is defined in the extension. It's all there in the extensions directory.

OK. I've added a button in galleryFieldExtension within the table definition so a new php/tpl combination called Edit is fired up within extensions/gallery with an OnClick action.
But now I'm struggling to get access to the page or entry I'm working on. I can access vars like $PIVOTX['paths'] but not pagetype or page.
If I leave out the initializePivotX() weird things are happening. If I add GLOBAL $PIVOTX this doesn't help.
As I said I am not familiar with these kind of environmental setups.
How to access the required vars belonging to the page I'm editing? Help!

I've added input fields for path, title and alternative title to the gallery extension Version: 0.12.1.
It's not clean yet, but you can try, just backup and replace the files (hook_gallery.php and gallery.js in pivotx/extensions/gallery).
Then just click a thumbnail in the gallery.

I am no longer using the Gallery extension (switched to Bonus Fields which has a similar function and much more).
