Yes, mixing portrait and landscape images doesn't work very well. It's all about the call to timthumb.php - look at the generated HTML source code and see extensions/slideshow/widget_slideshow.php. Maybe adding "fit=1" to the URLs work? Please play with the timthumb.php parameters and tell me if you succeed.

Thanks for the tip. Now I get thumbnails that don't stretch, but they need to be cropped (zc=1). Doesn't seem to matter if 'fit' is 0 or 1, as long as it's set; that made the difference, for some reason. Since I tried all combinations my conclusion is that there's no easy way to logically shrink an image to fit within the frame. Maybe I'll use the gallery extension for that stuff.

We have just update timthumb.php to the latest version available - do you end on the same conclusion if you use PivotX Latest from http://pivotx.net/files/unstable-development/ And do you recommend changing the timthumb.php parameters used by the slideshow extension?

With the new version the default settings don't create any stretches with my system. It zooms and crops, and that's it, so no changes needed.

I think
Code: Select all
[[ slideshow folder=$entry.title ]]
or
Code: Select all
[[ slideshow folder=$page.title ]]
depending on the type of entry you are one, should work. The folder still has to be under images\.

Those are good suggestions, Harm, but using the title can cause problems with special characters, space and such. It's better to use the uri - $page.uri or $entry.uri
