require pivot login

Hi all

I am using pivot for almost 5 years and I am upgrading to pivotX. I am able to migrate almost all extensions I wrote to this new framework. However I miss one important extension (at least for me): require_pivot_login. This extension in pivot 1.X, when added to the introduction or body section, checked if the user is logged in as regular user or registered visitor in order to get access to that particular entry. I use this a lot to restrict access to some of my entries. Is there a way to do this in pivotX? Is there an extension for this?

If not, where can I find the necessary information, such as variable names, data structure, etc. in pivotX in order to convert the require_pivot_login extension (if the author allows me)?

We already have a password protection extension - at least if you grab PivotX Latest from http://pivotx.net/files/unstable-development/ I'm planning to extend that extension so it also can use a PivotX account as valid login (making it a drop-in replacement for Require Pivot Login - that I wrote).

I just updated the Password Protect extension (in revision 2489). I added a setting so users that are already logged into PivotX don't have to give the password (which should make it mostly identical to "Require Pivot Login" as long as the password is unknown). Grab PivotX Latest from http://pivotx.net/files/unstable-development/ if you want to test it.

Can you enable visitors to register by themselves?

I want to protect the content and allow it to only be seen by registered visitors. How do I create a registered visitor?
