Did you thick the option in the specific entry or page? (At the bottom of the edit screen).

Just to be sure: This extension works on the detail display of an entry or a page. So the front page of your weblog will be shown without checking. If there is only an introduction then most themes do not offer the More option and so there is no link to the detailed display. If you browse through detailed displays then an entry with only a introduction will also be protected.

Glad to be of help! ;)

I have installed the password protect extension (1.3) on my Pivotx 2.3.6, just like I did for another website (that is working correctly). Used the exact same settings, protected an entry with a password, etc.

When checking that entry and entering the correct (!) password, it's not opening, it gives the error page that I specified in the extension page.

I have compared both websites (the one that is working correctly and the one that's not) and the only difference that I can find, is that the popup message asking for the password gives a (error?) code. The text is exactly the same. The code is: -10266.

Is that causing the password protect extension to not work?

I suspect it won't change a lot but please try installing version 2.3.7 of PivotX.
And also please specify a link to the entry that gives the problem.
If you do not want to publish the password here please PM it.

I guess it's related to the server configuration - which is different on the two servers. It can be many things. (How PHP is run on the server for example.) Ask your hoster.
