Hallo,

i'm new in Pivotx, it is a really very good project.

I've installed the password protect extension and it works fine to protect pages and entry.

My Problem is how can the user logout byself and by the server/administrator.
Once the user is logged in, he can visit all sites every time !?
If he closed the browser the session ist destroyed and the user is logged out, but if he leave the browser open ...

Thanks

I do not quite understand your question.
Maybe you can eloborate?

BTW PivotX is a good project but since long stopped developing. The new project is Bolt.

ok, i' ve looked at bolt, but that is to much for my site...

In pivotx i'm looking for logging out for a normal visitor of my site, if i activate the password extension. The only way to logging out i found, is to close the browser.

The password protect extension is not that sophisticated.
Maybe you could ask hansfn (the author of this extension) what your options are.
Perhaps there is a cookie created somewhere that you can delete by an optional log out button?

The password protect extension uses HTTP Basic Auth and it works exactly like that - you have to close the browser to log out. From Wikipedia:

HTTP does not provide a method for a web server to instruct the client to "log out" the user.
