This is the discussion topic for the External Links extension.

This extension will make all external links open in a new browser window. Optionally, it will add a small icon to the link, so your site's visitor will be able to recognize the external links as such.

Get the extension here: http://extensions.pivotx.net/entry/11/externallinks.

A new version is released containing an extra config option to add text to existing titles.

Thank you for this.
However, I cannot seem to make the extension work.

I have uploaded the files to extensions/externallinks/, and so far I have made no changes.
But it says something at the bottom of the file about a JQuery, and my js folder seems to be empty.
Could it have something to do with that?
(I am a real novice in Java, so go easy, please).

Thank you.

Hi! If possible please post a link to your site and also provide some data about your PivotX version.
If you do not want to publish some of these data you can also mail me.

Thanks.
I use PivotX 2.3.7 and the blog can be found on http://www.vlaamseradio.tk/pivotx/
(I noticed you will be able to understand what's there too) :D
Thanks.

I notice that the extension lacks something in its documentation: it needs to have jquery added (it doesn't do that itself).
As you do not have another extension active that takes care of that (like on my own site) you need to specify the always_jquery option in the config.
See http://book.pivotx.net/page/app-a

And I do understand what is on your site...... ;)

OK,
Thank you.
I did add that in the advanced config, and gave it a value of 1, but it is still not working I'm afraid.

Thanks.

The error has now changed and has nothing to do with this extension.
Your superfish.js cannot be found (as is your hoverintent)
Code: Select all
<script type="text/javascript" src="/pivotx/pivotx/templates/magazine/js/superfish.js"></script>

Looks like there is a /pivotx too many.
Did you change something in the theme templates you are using? Otherwise it could be an error in the theme itself.

Thank you.

I just installed theme Magazine myself and it works OK. So I guess there is something wrong in your set-up.
Perhaps you could give me temporary access to your dashboard? So I can check for myself.
You could try another theme to see what happens then.
