This is the discussion topic for the Feedgrabber extension.

The Feedgrabber extension lets you 'crawl' one or more external RSS feeds, of which the items will be added to your PivotX as seperate entries. You can use this for when [[feed]] is too restrictive to use, or if you want to show the items from the RSS Feed as 'regular' entries on your site.

Get the extension here:

Hey guys,

This weekend I installed the extension and it works like a charm.

Since the feeds are from other sites, as courtesy I would like to give the original author the credits by adding the link to the original message to the post.

Can you explain how I can add these parameters, like the extra-fields on the entry-page, to the posts from FeedGrabber?

My site is based on the Andreas-3 theme, maybe this is causing it?

By the way, doing a great job on PX2.x!

Like Mickey asked, is it possible to map fields from the xml to custom fields in bonusfields?

How come this plugin only works for MySql only?
How hard would it be to make this plugin work for file system database?
Google will be the primary search and will not be using the built in search form.

Great work on the cms. it's just what i been looking for minus the plugins that only use Mysql.

Thank you in advance.

I'm happy to announce version 0.4 (uploaded/released now) that works with flatfile databases too.

Give it a try.

Thank you for a very fast update.

Have a question about multiple feeds using multiple categories.

Code: Select all
$feedgrabber_config = array(
    'feeds' => array(
    'category' => 'feed',
    'user' => 'feed',
    'status' => 'publish',
    'allow_comments' => false,
    'update_items' => true

How would i go about setting this up?

By the looks of it, all feeds go under one category, or would i create another $feedgrabbber_config = array() in the config file?

Currently all feeds go to the same category - sorry. I can see that your suggestion is very useful.

It shouldn't be very hard to add support for per feed settings, but I'm not sure when I can do it. I kind of used up my PivotX time for a couple of days ;-)

There is a problem with duplicates occurring. Is there a setting or something that can erase or stop the same post by title?

There shouldn't be any duplicates - the extension checks for that. I'm not able to reproduce the problem. (You did grab the new version of the extension?)

I would very much like access to your PivotX to see the duplicates (to understand what is going on). Contact me at

PS! What version of PivotX are you using?

It's appreciated.
