Bonus Fields

Postby jadwigo » Wed Jun 23, 2010 1:26 pm

An extension to add extra fields to pages or entries.

This extension supercedes the ultimatefields extension.

Extrafields contain extra page or entry information. This extension allows you to edit fields various ways:

Simple input types: input text, textarea, select, radio, file-uploaders.

Advanced types include: image, date, page/uri selection.

It's also possible to only view extrafield fields. Handy if you keep statistics inside extrafields.

Version 1.33 has been released.

Why is this not for flat file installations? Ultimate Fields was also only for MySQL users.

I'm using flat files and really like the Ultimate Fields or Bonus Fields extension, but I can't use it...

Actually, as far as I understand it the bonusfields also works for flatfile sites. Ony the "smart" stuff does not work.

Just installed the latest version of Bonus Fields, and get an error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in hook_bonusfields.php on line 25

PivotX version 2.1.1. Using Flat files.

You are probably running PHP 4 which I think Bonus Fields doesn't support.

OK - thanks.

It would be useful if the requirements for each extension were included.

Definitely. (Just for the record: I'm not the extension author.)

I appreciate that hansfn - it wasn't a dig at you :-)

I've now got this up and running, and I've added fields into my pages. However, it's not that obvious how to access those fields.

I was expecting to be able to use getpagelist and pull out the values using $page.[valuename]
Is this not how it works? Am I missing some documentation?

Thanks for any advice/help.

$page.extrafields.key or $entry.extrafields.key

This is truly missing from the docs ... Too bad. I guess/hope it will be fixed in the next release.
