I have a bonusfields-related question as well as I don't get the select-option to work the way I want it to...

The user should be able to select the venue where a band is playing: nine options, which I entered in 'Extra type information'. The internal name is 'zaal'.

In my template it looks like so:

Code: Select all

[[ if $entry.extrafields.zaal|escape]]
<div class="speeltijd">
<p>[[ $entry.extrafields.zaal]][[*// [[ $entry.extrafields.tijd|date:'H.i']] uur *]]
</p>
</div>
[[ /if ]]

So far everything works. But I also have the option 'unknown', when the editor does not know yet where a band is playing. When 'unknown' is selected, nothing should be shown on the page. How do I do that? The documentation doesn't tell!

Also: when the editor selects a field, saves the entry and opens the entry again in PivotX, the option is no longer selected. This way the editor cannot see which option has been selected - this is confusing... Is this a bug or can I do something about it?

Ah, the not-being-able-to-see-what-had-been-selected problem has been solved: apparently this happens when the selection-options are edited.

But is it still possible to make the field not show up on the page when the editor selects the option 'unknown'?

Question answered, there is an option 'Empty text (if applicable)', which does exactly that.

He mentions Piv 3 which was a working version used by Marcel and Bob to create their own sites. Piv 3 was never released. As Piv 4 will be totally new I guess you will not have this function in Piv 2.

Hi Harm/Marcel

Thinking about this, would there be a way to search only in specific bonus fields?
or is it perhaps better to wait for version 4 (if that's part of version 4)?

Have a nice evening,
willem

Thanks!

I would like for example do a search for "gold" on the bonusfield color.

Can you give me some direction how to do this (if possible)

thanks again!

In standard PivotX this is not directly possible. Only calling [weblog]/[subweblog] and searching every entry would this be possible.

If you have the OOPs extension it's simple (once you installed the extension), you just run: [[oops_entry_loadall assign='entries' by_colorfield='blue']]
But mind you, OOPs tags have different syntax from [weblog]/[subweblog], read the documentation carefully.
