Formbuilder problem

Postby Pieter » Tue Jun 29, 2010 5:52 pm

Hi all,

I've downloaded and installed the newest PivotX unstable package. However, when I would activate the formbuilder extension and save the page, a blank page appears and both the backend and frontend do not work until I remove the folder 'Formbuilder' from the Extensions-folder.
Who knows how to solve this?

Greets,

first: This question is better suited for the extensions subforum

second: To help you I need a bit more information...

Coult you please provide the following:
Your webserver (apache 1.3/apache 2/IIS)
Your PHP version
Your hosting provider (some hosting providers have custom configurations)
The exact buildnumber of pivotx
The exact version of formbuilder you have downloaded

If there is any debug output check if there is anything related to formbuilder, maybe in your php errorlogs

Hi Jadwigo,

I'm sorry for posting this question in the wrong category. Can I move it myself?
Have started the debug modus. In the meantime I'm looking for my server information.

First results after re-activating the extension is:
Code: Select all
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/vhosts/write-it.nl/httpdocs/pivotx/extensions/formbuilder/form.class.php on line 22

Owha, I suspect a PHP problem. Formbuilder needs PHP 5+ ... which I hadn't realized until now.

What version of PHP are you using?

@Jadwigo

That could be the reason, because I'm using PHP 4.4.7.
However, during configuring the website, it still did the work. After moving the whole site to the root, the problem began to appear..

thats weird.. because the error you're getting is about php4 not knowing the __construct() function that is used in formbuilder ( http://php.net/manual/en/language.oop5.decon.php )

Does this error mean that the server is not running PHP5?

The error message only appplies when php is to old, but if it did work before on the same server in a subfolder... then my guess is as good as anyone else's.

If the php version differs by subdirectory then the serverconfiguation is very weird... and not something I'm very afraid of actually - that's why I hide from this topic... starting now...
