Re: BBClone extension

I am trying to activate this extension on revision 3364.
My PivotX install is on example.org/sitetest/pivotx.
The extension itself is located (like all other extensions) in example.org/sitetest/pivotx/extensions/bbclone.
In the documentation it states that bbclone has to be installed at the same level as the pivotx folder.
So I copied the entire folder to example.org/sitetest/bbclone.
As I didn't get an extra option in the configuration menu I also copied it to example.org/bbclone to no avail.
When using the bbclone_stats template I get the message unrecognized template.
Should it work in my set-up and where to put the bbclone folder?

When using the bbclone_stats template I get the message unrecognized template.

Because you only enabled the hook for tracking and not the snippet for displaying ... It's split in two like that because many people only want the tracking - they lookup the stats in the BBClobe web interface.

You are probably right in what you say. But how to enable the snippet? There is nothing in the dashboard where I can set settings.......
And you haven't answered my question on where to put the folder..... :?

Come on, Harm ;-) The snippet is enabled on the same page as you enable the hook - on the Extensions page. And BBClone should installed be installed as the docs says - in other words in example.org/sitetest/bbclone. But I don't understand why you say "copied the entire folder" - you do understand that you have to install BBClone itself separately? If you look at the HTML source of a page/entry you are trying to track, you'll see if there is an error or not. (That there isn't an error just means that PivotX found BBClone - it doesn't mean that you have installed BBClone correctly.)

I must have had too much to drink on New Year's Eve......... ;)
I totally missed that there is a separate snippet to be installed.
Maybe you can explain why this is?
Because aren't there extensions that install a hook and snippet in 1 go?

I also missed that BBClone itself has to be installed. Rereading the documentation it looks like it is properly described. But as I missed it possibly someone else can too!
A link to the site would be useful to have: http://www.bbclone.de/

I'll probably propose a documentation change in the near future........ :)

Yes, you must have add to much to drink.

I totally missed that there is a separate snippet to be installed.

Nobody said there was a separate snippet to install - I said enable.

And there is a link to the BBClone site ...

But why is there a separate hook and snippet? Is there any use to this split of functions?

I already answered this - quote from above:
It's split in two like that because many people only want the tracking - they lookup the stats in the BBClobe web interface.

You don't want to slow down your PivotX by loading unnecessary files. (Each file PivotX has to load takes time and uses memory.)
