I am still hoping for the update that was promised 'in a few days'. ;-)

Off-topic: the forum is functioning with difficulty at this moment: slow, sql-error messages, internal error etc. I hope the server isn't based in Japan...

There you go: http://extensions.pivotx.net/entry/45/seo

It features bugfixes (no more html- or smarty-tags in descriptions) and extra features (admin screen for options, default keywords)

Downloaded and installed it for use however i have an important question.

Actaully everything works fine but there is an issue (well, i think it is) with <meta name="description" content="WHATEVER INFO YOU HAVE IN YOUR INTRODUCTION FIELD (ADMIN ENTRY PANEL)" >

The bold text is where it goes "wrong" on my site.
Because i only have 2 images and a text named "watch the movie" in the introduction field every entry has <meta name="description" content="watch the movie"> in source.

QUESTION:

Exactly what do i have to change in hook_seo.php in order to get the actual TITLE OF THE ENTRY in the meta name=description instead of the introduction field..

shortly <meta name="description" content="INTRODUCTION FIELD"> ---------> <meta name="description" content="TITLE OF ENTRY">

That's the beauty of the SEO extension! It offers you the option to add 3 alternate strings to your entry/page.
If you go to your editor you'll see "SEO options for this page" displayed nearly at the end of the editor page.
If you click on Show then you get the opportunity to overrule 3 values.
In your case you can put in a specific description that will be used in stead of the default one.
So no need to hack the hook......... ;)

Or use this in your (sub header) template instead of using the extension:

Code: Select all
<meta name="description" content="[[title strip=1]]" >

PS! Using the Description field that is supplied by the SEO extension is OK for a new site, but if you have a lot of entries it means a lot of editing ...
