Fancy box behaviour since update

Postby verbaljam » Sat Jan 22, 2011 4:40 pm

I had Fancybox configured to display captions outside the popup image in the extended configuration page (fancybox_profile=2).
The caption was always neatly displayed in a round frame of its own, below the (popup) picture.
Since one of the latest upgrades of PivotX (probably to 2.2.x), it behaves differently: the frame around the text is gone and only thin white characters are displayed.
Did something change to this extension? Were there changes in the stylesheet? Is it something in the relation between the new PivotX and the old extension?
Help would be much appreciated, as I miss my old text frames below the picture.

(example: popup image in http://www.verbaljam.nl/archive/2011-01 ... fgoedlijst - text hardly visible)

I can confirm that something is wrong. Version 2.2 includes the latest version of Fancybox.
Will investigate.

Found the error (FB does something different then they describe in their documentation). The corrected file has been sent to Bob to verify.

When I activate FancyBox,
the jQuery include is suddenly overwritten by the FancyBox jQuery include.
This points to jquery.js, but this file is not available.

There must be something wrong with the following line because it checks for existence of a jquery include. And this is already present.
file: snippet_fancybox.php
Code: Select all
if (!preg_match("#<script [^>]*?/jquery[a-z0-9_-]*\.js['\"][^>]*?>\s*</script>#i"

I temporarely fixed this by duplicating jquery-1.4.4.min.js to jquery.js
in the "pivotx/includes/js" folder.
Is it something i did wrong, or is this a bug? Maybe the bug you just wrote about?

I'm using PivotX 2.2.2, fancybox 0.11, dir gallery 0.7

Fancybox extension 0.11? That's an old one. Currently it's at 0.16.
Get it from the extensions-latest.zip at http://pivotx.net/files/unstable-development/
I don't think an old version of FB (or other extensions that use jquery for that matter) work well with PivotX 2.2 because of the jquery upgrade.

Sorry for that! We are shifting servers and the extensions on that site are currently not the most recent ones (for those that change a lot). In the near future this will be corrected! The unstable location always contains the latest versions of all.

I assume the original problem I posted in this thread is not solved yet?
To keep things clear and understandable: may I suggest that other problems are posted in separate topics, otherwise a thread gets cluttered with all kinds of problems and solutions.
