This is probably possible. If you look at the header of my own website: http://www.remark-webdesign.nl/weblog/remarkwebdesignen you see a rotating cycleshow displaying the extrafield image and the introduction of the pages in a specific chapter.

If you just get the page or the entry you have connected your gallery to and display the banners in for instance a list item list you can put a cycleshow around it.
Obviously you have to code that in smarty tags in your header template.

Thanks a million man, it worked :D

Made a (non-published) page with a bonusgallery containing my banner images, and fetched these with the following code in my header template :

Code: Select all
<a name="top"></a>
    <div id="wrapper">
        <div id="header">
        <a href="[[ home ]]">
        <div class="[[ cycleshow height="256px" width="1024px" slidefx="fade" timeout="15000" effect="0" ]]" >
            [[ getpage uri='banner']]
            [[bonusgallery assign='banner' content=$page.extrafields.banner_fv ]]
            [[foreach from=$banner item='image']]
                    <img src="[[$image->getImgSrc(1024,256)]]" alt="[[$image->alt|escape]]" title="[[$image->title|escape]]" />
            [[/foreach]]
            [[ resetpage ]]
        </div> </a>
        </div>

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Hi

Was wondering if this is also possible as I have a difficult time to get underneath code working.

My result is that I get per line a result, in other words it cycles the h2 line than the image etc

I would like to cycle it as a block and each new cycle it retrieves a new record from the database

hope someone can give me some direction how to solve this

thanks
willem

<div class="[[ cycleshow ]]">

[[ subweblog name="members" category="members" amount=1 order="random" ]][[ literal ]]
<h2 class="sidebar-title">Member: [[ title ]]</h2>

<h2 class="title">Member since [[subtitle]]</h2>

[[ if $entry.extrafields.image!="" ]]

<img src="[[pivotx_url]]includes/timthumb.php?src=[[$entry.extrafields.image]]&amp;w=125&amp;h=125" alt="[[$entry.extrafields.description]]" class="extraimage" />

[[ /if ]]

[[ introduction ]]

[[ /literal ]][[ /subweblog ]]

</div>

This should be fairly simple if you pack the block in its own div like this:
Code: Select all
<div class="[[ cycleshow ]]">
[[ subweblog name="members" category="members" amount=10 order="random" ]][[ literal ]]
<div class="cycleentry">
<h2 class="sidebar-title">Member: [[ title ]]</h2>
<h2 class="title">Member since [[subtitle]]</h2>
[[ if $entry.extrafields.image!="" ]]
<img src="[[pivotx_url]]includes/timthumb.php?src=[[$entry.extrafields.image]]&amp;w=125&amp;h=125" alt="[[$entry.extrafields.description]]" class="extraimage" />
[[ /if ]]
[[ introduction ]]
</div>
[[ /literal ]][[ /subweblog ]]
</div>
Also notice the fact that you shouldn't code amount=1. This means you will only get one entry and cycleshow does not show anything when only 1 block is encountered. PivotX does not cycle entries in a subweblog. Cycleshow does that by, in this case, showing the first entry and then the second and so on.

Do you mean 16 images at once? I guess that would be possible if you wrap those 16 into the same element?
As you can see on my site http://www.remark-webdesign.nl/page/cycleshow-en/remarkwebdesignen you can also revolve text parts like unordered lists.

It all depends on the element you aim for when coding the revolving.

hi harm!

no I mean like real entries

does that make sense?

like displaying 16 entries next to each other and than refresh with the next 16

hope this helps to make it a bit clearer

thanks!

That is just what I mean. Wrap those 16 entries into one parent element and attach the cycling to that element.
