Seeking info: replacing a currently used tag

I'm curious if there is a way I can show more information at the administrative back end when configuring an extension. Basically I want to compare versions of local resources to that of remote resources. I've got a rudimentary php script to do it, which I read I cannot include in the documentation, which is why I'm wondering if I can put it in the backend somehow.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean......
You are not talking about file diffing or the likings? Because you can do that too with local and remote resources.

So maybe you should clarify your question somewhat.......

Hmmm, I'll try.

I know that in admin_extension.php you can add hooks to create form elements for configuring your extension. I'm curious if I can add stuff other than form elements and if the output can be generated via php.

For example, something like this (formatted better) is what I would also like to include. So far, I've got everything else working in this hook extension.

EDIT: Okay, I've got it figured out. Now, I just need to figure out how to arrange these hooked in form elements in the order I want them in.

EDIT 2: I didn't realize this stuff was output in a table...got it fixed.

As I still not fully understand where you are going and you got it fixed now, we would like to see what you 've created.
Maybe others want to do something similar?

Yes, as soon as I create the documentation, I think this bad boy will be ready for release. Then people can enjoy the culmination of nearly six years of labor. You have been good little developers, indeed, allowing me to hook this in rather than hacking the module.
