How to use gallery extension

Postby rolfijn » Wed Feb 25, 2009 9:41 am

Dear list,

Yesterday i updated my pivotx installation form pivotx2beta-d to pivotx2beta-j . I saw it came with a gallery extension. Interested in this feature i enabled it. But now what? I can not find any information about this extension and the admin interface doesn't give any hints about how to use it either. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks Camarados,

I had checked the "New Page" screen as i, without knowing what to expect, would guess it would be, there but not the "New Entry" screen. Now I've found it. It does not seem to work however on my site. I can upload the pictures with the gallery extension, but i would expect it display "automagicly" on the new entry. This does not happen. Before i'll investigate further; Can you tell me whether my assumption is correct that the gallery should "just" appear, and if the state of the extension is such that this should work already. Using Firefox on Ubuntu Linux and Windows-XP. Debian on the server with flat-file storage.

You will need to add some HTML in your template, in order to show the gallery:

Code: Select all
  <style>
  #gallery { margin: 0; padding: 0; }
  #gallery img { margin: 2px; padding: 0; }
  </style>

Code: Select all
  <div id='gallery'>
  [[gallery]]
    <a href='%imageurl%%filename%' class="thickbox" title="%filename%" rel="gallery-%uid%" >
    <img src="%pivotxurl%includes/timthumb.php?src=%filename%&amp;w=106&h=80&zc=1" alt="%filename%" />
    </a>
  [[/gallery]]
  </div>

Hi Bob,

Thanks a lot. Works alright now. Very nice and easy solution for creating a quick overview of pictures. I did find that pasting the [[gallery]] code in the introduction-part of a new post results in the gallery displaying all the images twice. Like when i have inserted 6 images the first image, upon viewing will say: image 1/12 and the 7th image is the first image again.

Rabbeltje, that's what you get for using Internet Explorer! :-p

(but, seriously, this will be fixed in the upcoming RC 1. Wait for that, or use Firefox instead)
