Maybe placing the images inline and using Columnizer, making columns the same width as your images, would do the trick?

Code: Select all

   <script type="text/javascript" src="/pivotx/includes/js/jquery.js"></script>
   <script type="text/javascript" src="/pivotx/includes/js/autocolumn.js"></script>
   <script>
      $(function(){
         $('.gallery').columnize({width:110});
      });
   </script>

and
Code: Select all
<div class='gallery'>
[[gallery]]
  <a href='%imageurl%%filename%' class="thickbox" title="%filename%" rel="gallery-%uid%" >
  <img src="%pivotxurl%includes/timthumb.php?src=%filename%&amp;w=106&amp;h=80&amp;zc=1" alt="%filename%" />
  </a>
[[/gallery]]
</div>

??

or doesn't that work?

Try replacing the $ in the code with jQuery....
