Hans, most 'average' users dont think the way programmers like you do.
Where do you think the expression 'fool proof' comes from?
One rule should be: there must be no room for wild guesses or misinterpretation.

In this case I would write under the i-button something like: "e.g. /piwik/ or the complete path to piwik"
And: "fill in 1 if you have only one website to measure".

And even then there will be people like me that fill in 0 or 2.

The URL doesn't have to be "/piwik/" - you can use the complete URL as you did. The tool tip for website ID says "The id for the website as found in the Piwik website overview." How much clearer can that be? OK, maybe it's better that the default is 1 so most users are lucky and get it right without doing anything... -1 was supposed to be a way-off value

Hans, I believe there is a bug in the extension after all - I've tried to use the absolute path to my piwik installation (with two slashes after the "http:"), and it still shows only one slash in the source code:

You're right there was a stupid bug (they normally are) related to absolute paths - fixed in revision 3295.

Regarding your "Btw" - use the forum search.
