Category name in page title

Postby Winjer » Sat Mar 05, 2011 12:43 pm

Back when I was using Pivot Dreadwind I used a theme that had category (and archive) names show up in the page title. When I switched to PivotX this feature dissappeared.

Instead of "category name - weblogtitle" the page title simply reads "weblogtitle". There's probably a simple way to have the category name displayed. Right?

You can use template tag [[ category ]] to get the category name but only when you have an entry active.

Thank you. I have added the category tag, and it's definitely a nice addition to the entry titles.

But, if I understood you correctly there is no way to show the category title on a page that simply lists the entries belonging to one category or to have "search" show up in the title of the search page (okay, I could probably use a special header file for the search template). Is that correct?

This has been answered before - for example in the How to detect category page forum thread.
