theme Aero

Postby seb » Tue Jan 27, 2009 11:00 pm

Hej,

I was wondering if someone can help me a little. There is a theme in Wordpress called Aero. It uses windows that are a little transparant. I want to use that look for one of my new projects. Does somebody now any pivotx theme that has that... Or someone can help me on the right path for coding!?

Thanks Seb

shouldn't be too hard to port to pivot - i've downloaded the theme and i'll have a look into it. don't expect in 5 minutes though ;)

(just to be sure: this is the one you mean: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/aeros ?)

Yep, that's the one.

If I only could litte help howto use the coding for the background image in a good way (would like to have a background that resize to width of window, without changing the proportion) and to get the half-transparant text-blocks. The rest of the looks I can fix myself...

well, you COULD use the following:

Code: Select all
opacity:0.4;
filter:alpha(opacity=40)

(where 0,4 en 40 are the percentages of opacity). but that is not passed as valid css, so that is up to you what to do. or just download the theme-file and use the images in there, because they are semi-transparent images :)

Jaha... you mean that the background images used for blocks are just with an image which i semi-transparant!

Ofcourse; how easy...

didn't get the code you mean, just add that to a css item? Can you give an example!?

I tried with the png files from aero. But they don't seem to work in pivot?
This I used:
Code: Select all
<div class="bg-white">blabla </div>

Code: Select all
.bg-white {
    background: url(images/white.png) repeat-x repeat-y;
}

the code is css, yes, sorry :) you should just add that to whatever it is you want to make semi-transparant. as i said, it's not valid css, so it's up to you whether you want that or not.

i am not quite sure why the images don't work though...
