noticed a change between rss_fetch.in in version 2.2.2 and 2.2.5

restored the 2.2.2 version of the rss_fetch and it worked again.

Could someone have a look at the differences in the code.

TIA!

Thx for the bug report. This bug was introduced when we fixed the hanging dashboard issue - very annoying. Downgrading to earlier versions of includes/magpie/rss_fetch.inc is not recommended.

The proper fix (ref revision 3515) is to change

Code: Select all
    if (function_exists('file_get_contents') && empty($headers)) {

to

Code: Select all
    if (function_exists('file_get_contents') && ini_get('allow_url_fopen') && empty($headers)) {

in includes/magpie/rss_fetch.inc

ok thnx.
installed the new version from SVN and it works.

A small detail:
The checksum check from the integrity tool gives an error on the checksum even after uploading it in binary mode.

Which file gives an error in the integrity check? (The file you got from SVN? That is expected.)

Oeps same problem again after upgrading to 2.2.6
Symptom: widget lifestream shows no data.

debug log:
2011-07-05 21:30:07 - 0.093 -- modules/module_debug.php:414 / userErrorHandler() -- ( 9031364 )
Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: http:// wrapper is disabled in the server configuration by allow_url_fopen=0. (in 'magpie/rss_fetch.inc' on line 284)
Warning: file_get_contents(http://pivotx.net/notifier.xml?d3d3Lmxh ... 4yLjZ8LTE=) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found. (in 'magpie/rss_fetch.inc' on line 284)

workarround ( not encouraged by pivotx team.. i know......)
After restoring the 2.2.2 rss_fetch.inc version it works again.

I think 2.2.6 zip contains an old version of that file. Please get it from sourceforge: http://pivot-weblog.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/pivot-weblog/branches/2.2.x/pivotx/includes/magpie/
Quality is in the detail of things............
