Too big filesize for timthumb

Slideshow seems to not accept image files bigger than 3 meg. The reason seems to be a limitation in the script timthumb.php Is there any risk of raising this limit from 3 meg to, say, 6 meg? Files from good cameras are often larger than this.

As you have discovered there is a constant MAX_FILE_SIZE in includes/timthumb.php. The comment says it all: "file size limit to prevent possible DOS attacks". Processing a really big file will drain all the resources of your server. Doubling the limit may or may not be a problem.

I recommend resizing the photos to say max 1500 pixels width/height before upload. This will also save disk place on the server.

Thanks. Ok, I will have to use my own judgement here.

Perhaps another way around this is to create your own thumbnails locally and then to upload them to your server.
When thumbnails are already there they don't get recreated.
Quality is in the detail of things............

I can also convert your site to a Wordpress site!
