Files copied when editing them

Postby PixelPrinses » Wed Jul 06, 2011 5:07 pm

Hi all,

I do not know if this is browser related, but I have noticed several times now that when I quickly edit a template file and switch to work on yet another template file the previous files is copied into the latter file.

Perhaps this is browser related..., perhaps not. But it's giving me a headache by now.. ;-)

Tried reproducing in FF to no avail.
Please state your version and type of database. The browser you are using would be nice too...... ;)

When you say "quickly edit" do you save the edited file?
So you start out editing file1, save it and start editing file2. What content is put where? File2 has the content of file1? Or the other way around?
Quality is in the detail of things............

Ha Harm,

I use versie 2.2.6, database, and mainly work in FF 5.0 and also Safari 5.0.5.

What I did is switch from working on _sub_sidebar.html to frontpage and found the frontpage completely copied with the sidebar-entries... Strange!
But it all happened real quickly and found myself having to upload the whole folder once again. Then problem was solved although I had to re-apply my changes again.

Sometimes, though, even I work too fast and am chased by my own shadow ;-)

But did you save _sub_sidebar.html before switching? And were you maybe copying and pasting?
And did it happen lately?

Well, naturally I saved the file before I started working on another. I was in fact not copying and pasting...
It happened recently on Bob's own server.

PixelPrinses, I have experienced something similar myself (some time ago), but wasn't able to reproduce. Please let us know if this happens again, and if you can repeat the problem (many times).
