New backend Bolt 2.0

Postby gwbonline » Tue Jan 21, 2014 9:19 am

According to 'Bolt sprint in january (or 'Boltcamp 2014')' there will be a re-built backend for Bolt 2.0 in april 2014. I'm getting used to the backend as it is right now. What are the changes going to be? I'm always very curious about this. Will it be a modern look like Wordpress 3.8 has? And are the feautures and functionality going to be the same as they are now?

It will be nowhere as big a change as it was from PivotX to Bolt. Think of it as a more gradual improvement to what we currently have. The goals are:

- It should be "lighter" and more consistent overall.
- Better all-around support for different devices: desktops, phones, tablets and everything in between.
- We're going to tweak the menu's and which item goes where, but nothing radical.
- Refactor the HTML to use Bootstrap 3.0. And clean up the code at the same time.
- Wordpress? What's that? ;-)
