It would be great if the site somewhere has any kind of information, that mysql is not mandantory.

This is one of the main reasons why I chose Pivot and stayed with it throughout the years: no need for mysql.

Quite frankly, if I would have chosen that route, I would have gone for WP long ago. :)

Nixande, it says so loud and clear on the front page: "PivotX 2.0 is released under the GPL so it is completely Free and Open to use. It is written in PHP, and uses MySQL or Flat files as database."

Bob and team,

Just installed PivotX to a test server running MySQL 4.1.20. Installation and setup went perfectly. I dig the new pages functionality. The interface is fast and easy on the eyes. Great work! Looking forward to the beta release! Thanks.
