Upgrading between Alpha releases

Postby Alexander » Sun Dec 23, 2007 4:08 pm

With the Alpha 2.0 in sight, I wondered. How do I upgrade? I'm still running Alpha 1.0.

If I just upload all files that come in the zip-file, I'll overwrite my config files etc?

You can just overwrite the old alpha with the new one, and it won't break a thing. As easy as can be. :-)

It won't even break my configuration files? How nice is that! 8-)

I assume I can upgrade directly from Alpha 1.0 to 2.0?

(My teacher told me never to assume (because you'll make an ASS out of U and ME! :P), that's why I ask. ;))

Yes, just put alpha2 over alpha1, and you'll be all set.. the only thing you have to be careful of, is if you've changed any of the files in the template folder yourself. (if so, then don't overwrite those)..

The config or settings will not be reset if you overwrite the old one with the new one.
