Paging issue

Postby Schop » Tue Apr 29, 2014 4:00 pm

Hi there,

It;s been a long time since I've worked with PivotX, so bear with me if this is something I'm simply overseeing.

I'm trying to publish a weblog, and have a lot of entries in a certain category. This category is assigned to a subweblog, and the first 8 entries show up without a problem.

At the bottom of the page I would like to include the [[paging]] tag, like so:
Code: Select all
         <div class="pagenav">
            [[ paging action="prev" ]] |
            [[ paging action="curr" ]] |
            [[ paging action="next" ]]
         </div>

When the page is rendered, the paging links do not show up, but instead I get this piece of HTML:

Code: Select all
<div class="pagenav">
            <!-- snippet paging (prev): only output on weblog pages -->
 |
            <!-- snippet paging (curr): only output on weblog pages -->
 |
            <!-- snippet paging (next): only output on weblog pages -->

         </div>

What am I doing wrong?

Wait a minute. I think I see what went wrong. I've made a regular 'page', that is linked to the template that renders the subweblog. I did this so the page would show up in the list of pages in a sidebar. Now apparently PivotX thinks it's not a weblog page.

Is there a way to work around this?

This should work as long as your paging tag is close by the subweblog definition.
The tag has to relate to the entry that is shown somewhere in the subweblog tag.
What could help is that you can specify the categories in the paging tag itself http://book.pivotx.net/index.php?page=app-b#anchor-paging.
I think you have to do that for the subweblog as well to keep the paging in sync.
Quality is in the detail of things............

Thanks Harm! I've found another workaround in the mean time, but I will remember this one.

You are welcome!
