Dear Streeff,

Your layout is amazing, could you enlighten use, how you made the nice layout with the picture and the header text?

Are when do you have time to de-brand the template?

Greetings, Fan of your work.

Have been using PivotX for two years now and I am very impressed. It's getting better all the time. Also a lot easier to work with, compared to Wordpress.

Sent you some cash via PayPal, and I recommend others to do the same. Keep up the good work. :P

Latest project: Kickingthehabit.nl

Postby ptr » Tue Mar 01, 2011 9:38 pm

I started this topic some time (maybe years) ago and I'm happy to see it's being used frequently. So let's show some more:

Take a look at Kicking the Habit, http://kickingthehabit.nl a music blog (Dutch) using a lot of fingerlicking good PivotX extensions like bonusfields, polls, Oembed, hitcounter and formbuilder.
This site really proves the superpowers of PivotX, if you ask me. It can do almost everything I wish as a designer. I built this site mostly by myself and I am still amazed what I have made, given the fact that I am a designer, not a programmer.
This project made me realize once again that I am very proud to be part of the PivotX team.

That site looks real nice. Like how the menu bars are all a little crooked, makes it look more dynamic.

Looks very nice but it in FF it contains a script error, a css error, invalid HTML and invalid CSS. So still some work to do..... ;)
Quality is in the detail of things............

I can also convert your site to a Wordpress site!

Well done! I like the use of colors on your site!

Which extension did you use for the 'best gelezen artikelen' part? I like it with the use of images.

Flow-offshore.nl

Postby streeff » Tue Aug 09, 2011 1:50 pm

I don't often work with prefab templates, but it was a joy to use Phoenix as a base for http://flow-offshore.nl (a site about developing offshore windfarms at large distances from the coast)

I started out with the PivotX Nivo Slider plugin for the carousel on the homepage, but had to install and hack the original Nivo Slider script eventually - now FLOW can add slides connected to specific entries from the backend.

Would you care to share that hack with the community?

(John , thanks for that template - care for a large shipment of zachtzoute dropjes?)

Actually, it's quite simple. The array with the caroussel images is created by:

Code: Select all
[[ subweblog name='home_caroussel' ]]
[[ literal ]]
[[ if $entry.extrafields.image!="" ]] <a href="[[entrylink hrefonly=1]]"><img src="[[pivotx_url]]includes/timthumb.php?src=[[$entry.extrafields.image]]&amp;w=960&amp;h=374" alt="[[$entry.extrafields.description]]" width="960" height="374" title="[[subtitle]] &raquo;"/></a>
[[ else ]]<!--I don't see entries with images.-->[[/if]]
[[ /literal ]]
[[ /subweblog ]]

In the backend I defined that only entries in the category "home_carrouselimage" will appear in this subweblog.
Make sure that the used images have a minimum width of (in this case) 960 px.

In the case of the FLOW site, this array is preceded by a fixed array of 3 slides which introduce FLOW.
