PivotX Tools

Postby hansfn » Tue May 19, 2009 10:16 pm

I'm happy to announce the PivotX Tools script/extension. Functionality:

  • Batch delete (spam) comments.
  • Change authors of entries and pages.
  • Change category of entries.
  • Rename image (and update all entries and pages using the image)
  • Copying weblogs
  • Check the integrity of your PivotX installation (after an upgrade or if you have been hacked)
  • Rebuild (comment) moderation queue [flat file db only]
  • Rebuild (list of) last comments [flat file db only]
Currently the "Rebuild (comment) moderation queue" functionality isn't available.
It will be implemented after requests in this forum thread.

PivotX 2.1.0 (and newer): Visit http://extensions.pivotx.net/entry/28/pivotx-tools for download (and more information).

PivotX 2.0.2 (and older): Download the script, save it as "pivotx-tools.php", put it in your "pivotx" directory and open it in your browser. There will be no more development on this script since I recommend every one to upgrade to 2.1.0 ASAP.

PS! This is a port of Pivot Tools to PivotX.

Hi Hans,

beautiful set of tools, but how to use it? Is it only useful in case of updates? And would it be implemented in the next releases?

You can use the tools any time - it's not connected to updates. Some of the tools might get integrated into PivotX if there is enough interest. However, we don't want PivotX to get bloated (with too many features), so you really got to suggest it.

I'd like to have the possibility to rebuild the last comments.
This is especially useful when converting from older releases.

I just made a new version 0.2 that supports rebuilding of last comments - see initial post for download link.

I just tried the rebuilding and it works fine! After running the comments and links are OK.
Just a minor remark: the php has to be put into the pivotx/pivotx directory to be able to work (this is the same for the convertflat.php in the installation instructions).

I'm glad it works for you.

PS! The reason you need to put in th "pivotx/pivotx" directory is that you unpacked your PivotX inside a directory called "pivotx" ...

True, but why does a directory exist outside the unpacked pivotx directory called Images? This seems illogical. Anyway it works so thanks again!

I want to use the pivotx-tools.php tools but i get everytime the following error:
"Not implemented/ported yet."

What am i doing wrong?

I tried it on flat files and sql but both give the same error.
