Browser Pop-Up on Button Click: application.octet-stream

On the pivotX powered weblog I'm working on, every time I click on a tab (home, about, news, etc.) I get a pop-up window from the browser (ff) that says:
"You have chosen to open: which is a application.octet-stream"

I've never seen this before and don't get it when browsing on other sites. I have tested this on several machines but the pop-up keeps showing up. I also get the same pop-up when clicking on a button in the pivotX dashboard.
I'm guessing it has something to with Content-Type or .htaccess but I don't know what/where to make changes.
