Can not login after moving dreadwind to a subdomain

Postby vera4u » Wed Jun 13, 2012 10:36 am

I'm using PivotX for my new main familysite (http://nws.wulffraat.nl/).
As I used Pivot (last Dreadwind) for many years (as off sep, 2006) I had a lot of entries.
I made a full backup with WSFTP.
I tried to 'merge' them in to the Pivotx site: as far as I can tell 100% by the book (http://book.pivotx.net/page/4-1).
I failed, somehow.
So I made a subdomain (http://ldr.wulffraat.nl/) and FTP'd all backed up files/maps.
As expected, the archives were not ok.
In order to rebuild all files, I tried to login the admin of this old PivotDreadwinfSite but that didn't work: I cannot login.
The "old" site still kind off works; http://wulffraat.nl/ndx.php
You normaly don't get there as the index file is only a redirect to the new PivotX-site.

Can someone please tell me where I went wrong?

Thank you,
Vera

I, sort of, worked around it.
Not the ideal world, but . . . .
The old pivot is now archive only.

If anyone still has ideas about my question; I'm still eager to find out what I've done wrong.

Thank you,

Is it difficult to help you to find what you did wrong (as you performed the upgrade). Perhaps you can repeat it on yoururl/sitetest/pivotx? If something still is wrong maybe a flaw in the documentation can be pinpointed.
Quality is in the detail of things............

Want to change or update your PivotX site? Mail or PM me!
I can also convert your site to a Wordpress site!

Thank you, I will as I'm very curious what went wrong and why ;)
