beta1 strict warning: "not safe to rely on the system's TZ"

Postby janozaurus » Sun Apr 13, 2008 6:03 pm

With
error_reporting = E_ALL | E_STRICT

in php.ini I'm getting this warning on any page (front and back end) displayed by beta1:
Strict Standards: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'Europe/Berlin' for 'CEST/2.0/DST' instead in /home/jk/www/p2/pivot/modules/module_spamkiller.php on line 21

Using E_STRICT isn't very useful, but anyway - do as you are told: Either set date.timezone in php.ini or add a call to the function date_default_timezone_set (for example in the function initializePivot in pivot20_lib.php. I haven't decided yet if I think it's worth the effort - adding another setting in the date/time config.
