Pivotx decreased?

Postby littlebigman » Sun Jul 18, 2010 12:15 pm

Hello

Pivot was actually what I was looking except that I would rather have data be saved in MySQL so that the blog data and the forum data all live in the zone.

Since Pivot is no longer maintained and PivotX is its successor, I would like to know if I can tweak it do behave more like Pivot, ie.
- only admins can post blog entries, no need for multiple authors, etc.
- new entries should be saved into MySQL, and then the page + homepage HTML should be (re)built so that users read the files directly from the filesystem instead of having to re-render the page every time with PHP + MySQL needlessly

Can PivotX be configured to be like Pivot with the benefit of MySQL? If not, do you know of an alternative?

Thank you.

As far as I know Pivotx's user management behaves as in Pivot.

Turn on cache in the configuration
