How do you develop with PivotX?

Postby habbekak » Sun Jun 03, 2012 11:09 am

Hello,
I am using PivotX since a long time. I like it. After sometime I was looking to Coda 2 and other programs like that. Can I use it with PivotX and can you tell me your method of developing with PivotX?
Thanks in advance
Kind Regards

Yes, you can use Coda to edit the PivotX source code. The source code is just plain text files written in PHP. However, before you even start to think about this, you need to have a goal. What do you want to achieve? Most things can be done by writing an extensions.

I just want to edit my templates and doing some html/css/js work. The standard PivotX editor is great, but Coda looks better.

Affirmative: programs like Coda or Dreamweaver are the way to go for extensive template development.

I use Dreamweaver with the built-in ftp client, that uploads directly to the pivotx server. Takes some time to configure, but saves a lot of time when you've got it running.

I am considering a switch to Coda, because my version of Dreamweaver does not support LESS or SASS - but that's another story.
