Menu Issues

I'm having some issues with the menu. I wanted to create a page that would be the index page while being hidden in the menu. I've created the page, but can't find the option to exclude it from the menu.

How do I hide the index page from the menu -- or what file are the menu items in?

Thanks.

Depends on which Theme, you are using. In many themes (including most of those, which I made) the menu is defined in the file _sub_main_menu.tpl. As an example here is this file from the theme scribbled:

Code: Select all
<div id="scribbledmenu">
   <ul>
      <li><a href="[[webloghome]]" accesskey="1">Home</a></li>
      [[ pagelist
      chapterbegin=""
      onlychapter="Pages"
      pages="<li><a href='%link%' title='%subtitle%' %active%>%title%</a></li>"
      chapterend=""
      isactive="class='current'"
      sort="title"
      ]]
   </ul>
</div>
<!-- end #menu -->

You should note the line onlychapter="Pages". This means the menu will include all pages from the chapter Pages and no other.

Thanks, that worked :)
My theme was Clarity and the menu part you showed me was in the file _sub_header.tpl
It didn’t have the line, onlychapter="Pages" so I added it and put the index page to another chapter.

I'm having issues with my menu too! I can't seem to find the file _sub_main_menu.tpl, is there anything else I should look for?

What theme are you using? The files belonging to the theme are all located in the folder pivotx/templates/themename.
It would also help if you specified what version you are on and what kind of issues you have...... ;)
