What I would like is the ability to do this:

Go to my pivotx installation, write a new entry. And have that entry automagically pushed to Facebook and Google Plus (and maybe Twitter) as a publication. Is there any extension or other sort of plug-in that does that? My search-fu seems to be poor.

I do not think there is an extension for that. Alas the development of PivotX has stopped. We only do bugfixing.

oh, I didn't realize it was updated.
Is there a simple way to upgrade my pivotx install (flat file) to this bolt? I can't seem to find anything in the documentation.

We are still busy creating an undocumented extension called wpexport.
This extension will export your content in such a way that it can be imported into Bolt but also WP.

As there a not a lot of developers busy with that it could take a while for it to be finished.
So watch this forum for information about that!
