Adding javascript to .tpl file

Hi, am new to pivotx and so far, i love it. Well, i was shocked when i noticed that there's no advertisement extension. I tried posting the code directly in the _sub_about.tpl file but it does not work. i have tried {literal} {/literal} still nothing, please help, this is the code
