Make posts Sticky

Postby Mickey98 » Fri May 22, 2009 10:14 am

Hy everybody.

Tried to make posts sticky by following this:

By 'post it' I believe the user wants a sticky(ies) entry at the top of his weblog like a sticky post. This has been discussed already in this thread where madjo said:

add a [[subweblog:sticky]] on the place where you want it to appear (in the templates)
then create a category called "sticky"
and go to administration > weblogs > your weblog > second page
and add the sticky category to the sticky subweblog...

now write an entry to the sticky category, and voila you have a sticky post

Hope that helps!

on the forum of pivotlog but this doesn't seem to work.
When I add the sticky part in my frontpage template above my standard-weblog entries it results in an empty pagen.

Can anyone explain me how I can get this working?

The pivotx template tags are quite different, so that will not work in the same way... Try the following, though..

Edit your frontpage template, and make _two_ weblogs:

[[ weblog name="sticky" ... ]] (markup for sticky entry goes here) [[ /weblog ]]
[[ weblog name="weblog" ... ]] (markup for normal entries goes here) [[ /weblog ]]

Then, if you edit the weblog inside pivotx, both the weblogs will show up. Assign the desired categories, and you should be close to what you want.

My write-up for this is a bit cryptic, perhaps.. Let me know if you can't get it to work, because i will explain in more detail then.
