PivotX 2.2.2 Image Upload does not work

Hello all,

I just updated to PivotX 2.2.2 and so far everything works fine beside the new image / file uploader. If I click on the 'Upload Image' Button nothing happens. This takes place in all areas where I try to upload images: I cannot upload images in the mediadata area and also uploading images into a bonusfield field or inserting an PivotX Image or Popup Image in entries does not work.

So far now I can only upload images via ftp. But this is a lot more work to do.

I tried all kinds of browsers: Mac OS: Safari, Firefox, Chrome, WinXP: IE8, Firefox, Chrome - all with the same result: nothing happens when I press the Upload Image Button.

I always logged of, cleared the caches, logged on again...

I also added the 'plupload_runtimes' key in the advanced configuration as described in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1855
and I tried several combinations... html5,flash,silverlight,gears,browserplus - silverlight,flash,html5,gears,browserplus and so on... but this also does not change anything.

The debug information also does not show anything special for this issue.

I'm using PivotX 2.2.2 with Flatfile DB

Any idea?

Seems like you've tried a lot of different things, so i'm not sure i can easily tell what's wrong.

- Have you tried it on another computer/another location?
- Any type of restrictive firewall or "internet security" running?
- If you want, you can make a temporary account for me, and send me the details via PM. At least we can see if it is a local issue, then.

Hi,

no, I have tried it only on my Mac (and Win XP in Virtual Environment). There are no Internet restrictions running.
Before I used PivotX 2.1.2 and everything worked fine. I have only troubles since I've upgraded to 2.2.2

I will send you login details via PM so may find out if it's a local issue.

Hi, it's indeed not working on your site. In Firebug I get this error:

You should try uploading the pivotx/js/plupload/ folder again, and making sure all files are present, like in the 2.2.2 distribution file.

Hi Bob,
thanks for checking.

I now have uploaded all files again into the pivotx/includes/js/plupload/ folder from the latest downloaded pivotx 2.2.2 file. What I realized was that before the file gears_init.js was missing in my installation - but now all files exist and nothing changed. I still cannot use the upload functionality.
So I think this uploader does not work in my installation and I will have to go on using ftp upload for images

Or is there any possibility to use the old uplodader in PivotX 2.2.2 ? Because the old uploader worked fine for my needs.

I'm still getting errors in Firebug, indicating something still isn't right with the files:

Tomorrow PivotX 2.2.3 will be out. I'd suggest doing an upgrade to that, and i'm quite sure that if you update all the files, it will work as expected.

Or is there any possibility to use the old uplodader in PivotX 2.2.2 ? Because the old uploader worked fine for my needs.

Hi,

I did update to PivotX 2.2.3 as you suggested but still the pluploader does not work. I have correctly uploaded all files from the latest PivotX Installation file and now I have also changed my installation from Flatfile DB to MySQL. Everything works fine and I have no problems. In my eyes PivotX is really the best Open Source CMS out there. Only the pluploader does not work. It might be that the old uploader was bad, but the new one - in my special case - is really crap! (I can say that because you did not develop it)

I have no more ideas how to get this work...

Just to make you all aware: today version 1.4.1 of Plupload was released and last week version 1.4.0. What version is PivotX using? Maybe an upgrade would help? http://www.plupload.com/

Ranchox: If you want to, you can give me FTP-access. I'll doublecheck if all files are uploaded correctly, and i'm sure i can get it working on your site.

Harm: PivotX 2.2.3 uses Plupload 1.4.0. Will update to 1.4.1 soon.
