In Gallery alttext and title do not show

I also find this a very annoying problem, that already exists for a long time if I remember correctly. When I upload a photo to the gallery, I give in an alt-text and a title at the same time. Nevertheless the photo is displayed whith its filename as title and alt-text. It's even more annoying when you also use Fancybox, because that filename is displayed prominently then.

I must agree with VJ. I have tried to install this gallery for my friend, because it would be the simplest way for her to upload images and show them on her website.

Two days after having set everything right, again uploading and alttext and title do not show.

Please, help me out here!

I managed to reproduce your problem! Whenever you combine uploading a picture with setting of alt/title (which should be a normal action) alt and title are lost. When you select an already uploaded picture alt and title are saved.
As I am on a recent revision level of both PivotX and Gallery extension (0.11) (and MySQL) I guess this can be considered a bug.
As I don't know enough about the changed upload process I ask an expert to have a look at it.

Meanwhile the circumvention of this problem is to first upload your picture(s) and add them to a gallery through selecting in stead of uploading.

Latest version of Gallery contains fix for this problem (confirmed that it works; thanks Marcel!). Also upgrade PivotX to at least revision 3656.

I fixed the Gallery extension, but I also added some new functionality to the bonusfields extension, which allows you to add a gallery only to entries and/or pages. Also it fixes the problem of not being able to edit alt/text when a picture has already been added, bonusfields can do this.

An upgrade would go as follows:

- download/install bonusfields
- add a type 'gallery' field and name the fieldname 'galleryimagelist'
- disable the old extension
- implements the new tags (see documentation)

Bonusfields sounds promising in this. As far as I can see the documentation for Bonusfields does not describe this switching from Gallery to Bonusfields. Could you please add this? Seems like the right place for it..................
