installation error

Hello,

Just installed PivotX to start a blog about the restoration of my Citroen Dyane D6 from 1968.

But after uploading and changing the rights I went to the site to get the installation finished but I get the following message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/pims0310/public_html/dyane/pivotx/modules/module_spamkiller.php on line 28

What did I do wrong

What version did you use?
Sometimes it helps to remove the files and upload them again (check your upload settings).

If you can access the dashboard you could use extension PivotX Tools and its option Integrity checker.

I am using PivotX 2.3.3

I uploaded it again but I get the same error message.

I don't understand your part about the dashboard.

Does this error block you logging in on your Dashboard (the main screen of PivotX Admin)? I mean http://www.yoururl.org/pivotx
If not you can try PivotX Tools.

You could also try to check whether your server meets the minimum requirements. See http://book.pivotx.net/page/app-e for a general description and link to the check script.

Problems seems to be the version of PHP on my hostingserver; I have 4.4.7 and need 5.2.0

Seems that PivotX 2.0.2 will work; where can I find older versions of PivotX?

4.4.7 is ancient! http://php.net/releases/index.php Perhaps your provider offers an easy upgrade? Running an older version of PivotX seems to be an unwise idea to me.................
