Pages order in sidebar doesn't use order number

Postby uineya » Fri Aug 08, 2008 11:17 am

The sidebar shows pages in a not know order and does not follow the sorting number asigned. Pivot orders pages by its way, and does not look to follow a logic way (Sometimes puts first a new page, sometimes it put its in the middle of the list...)

We tried to use normal numbering (1,2,3...) on 10 increments (10,20,30...) and even completly ilogical numbers, but listing keeps in it's own order. It looks that use creatior order, but sometimes don't.

Also, the chapter ordering does not works properly, same problem.

Using beta 1.8 and 1.9 for testing with the defaul templates, the bare_bones, and custom template based on bare_bones.

The server configuration is: http://www.sumedic.es/test.php
Also tried on this http://www.dfad.biz/test.php
Also we used an osX server to internal testing before publishing, with same results.

Your's, Daniel

Confirmed. Neither Chapters nor Pages are sorted (at all). I'm working on a fix.

I have found that if you manually change the names of the php files in pivot/db/pages, the order displayed change following the new names. It looks to be sorting based on phisical filename order. Perhaps this can serve as a clue for the fix. I don't know if this is only a flat files problem or also in database storage.

Thx for caring, but I don't need any help - I just need more spare time ;-) The fix is pretty straight forward, but requires some work (which I currently haven't found time to do).

PS! As I already said - pages/chapters aren't sorted at all. (To get technical, the pages are in fact sorted - by file system properties ...)
