The validation problem with the sitemap was just fixed in revision 2335. Log message:

Bug fix. Since the dates are stored slightly different in the MySQL database
compared to the flatfile database, we must use format_date to avoid validation
errors for the sitemap.

Regarding PHP info and Apache version: The info should be there - look for "apache2handler" and/or "Apache Version".

hansfn wrote:OK. What version of Apache is your site running? As you probably know, I never write anything without testing it. (I'll update the XML sitemap docs, since your code is more correct anyway.)

ADDED:

I really, really hope that

Code: Select all
RewriteRule ^sitemap\.xml$ index.php?xml_sitemap [L,QSA]

works on your server (since the substitution isn't a regexp).

My apache vesion is : Apache version 2.2.8 and yes, your posted code above works. When leaving out the backslash with sitemap.xml it doesn't work.

Nope...tried that..
If I execute phpinfo() on my site I get a lot of info about Apache....... maybe you should check again? ;)
Quality is in the detail of things............
