Back-end navigation garbled up in 2.2.0

Postby Schop » Tue Jan 04, 2011 3:06 pm

Hi,

After installing PivotX 2.2.0, I noticed some strange behavior of the navigation menu in the back-end (see screenshot). This happened in my Chrome browser, but also on IE7, Opera 11, etc. It seems only to occur when your on the 'Manage Media' page, and hover over another navigation link in the menu.

I'm not able to reproduce this in any browser - tested on FF, Chrome and IE.

Is this a fresh install or an upgrade? Maybe try to re-upload the PivotX files?

It is an upgrade. Your comment made sense, so I re-uploaded everything, making sure to overwrite all files. The problem persists though.

Further troubleshooting leads me to this:

When I click on (for example) 'Entries & Pages' in the menu, the
for that item gets the class:
.
The 'Manage Media' item gets this when active:
. All the other items act similar to the 'Entries & Pages' navigation item. Not sure why that is, but it seems wrong.

Hm, I don't have a clue why you get the behavior you observe. I would need access to your site (and probably FTP access too), but maybe Bob has seen problems like these before.

PS! Could you try with a clean test install on the same server - just rule out any upgrade issues complete?

PS! You have cleared the browser cache?

I sent you a PM with login credentials for the back-end, so you can see for yourself.

To answer your PSses: Yes, I did clear the cache. I also did a fresh install after that, and of course the fresh install does not have the problem. Something must have gone wrong with the upload.

Update: Problem solved after turning off 'Minify in back-end'. I would've tried that earlier, had I realized it was switched on.

the problem does however return when switching Minify in back-end back on.

Resolved ;-)

You'll find the fix in revision 3381. It was a serious with our minifying code. Thx for reporting it, and then nailing it!
