Anyone?

I did search the forums and no real answer is clearly given. Do I have to alter anything?
So far, the only time I learn of someone leaving a comment is when I login and look under Moderate

Normally notification is only sent to those logged in users that have it in their profile.
There is another option to send notification mail and that is in the weblog settings (last tab).
There you can specify whether you want to mail on every comment.
Quality is in the detail of things............

Harm10,
I have checked the box in the weblog settings (last tab) to have email sent on every comment.
Also, PHP safe mode is disabled and set to use FastCGI on my server.

However, comment notifications are still not being sent for every comment ... I will only get one every once in a while.
Any ideas why this does not work for me?
Thanks,
Jim

No I don't have an idea right away. Is there a pattern for the mails you do get? I mean are those comments made by registered users or plain visitors? The commenter can thick whether he wants to get notifications. I know that shouldn't make a difference but just looking for an answer.
The mailbox you are sending it to is not full and readily available (i.e. not your own or another non public server)?
BTW on what PivotX version are you?

All comments are from plain visitors since we have no registered users.
Running Pivotx 2.3.2.
The emails are set top go to xxxxx@mindspring.com which is my customer's regular email account which is working fine.
I just tried to add my email also (ie: xxxx@mindspring.com,xxxx@hatterasdesigns.net) separated with a comma as the screen instructs and an error pops up.
I guess that's another issue. Had to give up on adding my email to hers.
Thanks,
Jim

If you get some of the notifications, but not all, you know that PivotX is able to send mail correctly. If so, ask your hoster why it fails so often. PivotX is using the standard PHP mail function - nothing special.

Any help with this (the above underlined issue) would also be appreciated. Is this considered a bug? Try adding a second email and see if it pops an error for you.

For the benefit of all...
I finally got all notifications to come thru.
Turns out that my hoster is not reliable with standard phpmail using sendmail.
So, with the clue I got from Hansfn ("You can edit the function pivotxMail (in lib.php) so it uses on other mail functions"), I was able to use phpmailer with smtp for outgoing mail and now all my notifications arrive properly!

Jim
