Skinny theme: How to remove #body-anchor

Postby wietse » Sun Jun 02, 2013 9:00 am

Hi all,

Just started using Pivotx and love it. Created this blog for our work: http://www.theblackfish.org/blog

When you click on the 'read more' link under article on the front page, the link appear with a #body-anchor attached, jumping half way across the article on the new page.

Could anyone point me in the right direction of where to remove this to ensure it just links to the article like the title does?

Thanks!

Wietse

This is covered in the documentation for the more tag:
The optional parameter anchorname specifies the name of the anchor, which shows up at the end of the link, after the hash mark (the '#'-sign). If you don't use any anchors, just set an empty anchorname. If you use this, be sure to add it to [[body]] as well.

Thanks for the advice and link!

Forgive me, but in what exact file do I 'set an empty anchorname' ?

I'm new to Pivotx and just cannot find the exact place to make this change and switch off the anchor.

Thanks!

Thanks for the help Hans! I can find the [[more]] tag in the templates/skinny/_sub_weblog.tpl file but it's still unclear to me how to ensure the anchor is removed from the 'more' link, but ensuring that this link is still used, just linking to the normal article, instead of anchoring to half way down the article page.. Any further help much appreciated!

It is not that hard. The default value for the parm anchorname used by the more template tag is "body-anchor".
Code: Select all
So [[ more ]] is the same as [[ more anchorname='body-anchor']]
to code an empty anchorname:
Code: Select all
[[ more anchorname='' ]]

Would you also be able to point me to the correct template? I just haven't been able to find it myself. Thanks for the help. It was a specific question and and I'm fairly new to this..

That depends on what theme you are using. For theme Skinny Hans pointed you to the right file.
For other themes you could use a file searcher........
For now I can help you if you tell me what theme you have.
